Merle Wayne Valentine was born August 6, 1944 in Lindale, Texas to the late Merle Francis Valentine and Edith Whitlock Valentine. He passed away at the age of 71 on April 2, 2016 in Gladewater, Texas. He had been a resident of Gladewater all of his life, graduating from Gladewater High School in 1963. He was retired, and serve in the US Air Force in earlier years. He married his wife, Judy on St. Patrick’s Day 26 years ago.

He is survived by his wife, Judy Kay Valentine, of Gladewater; brother, Dane Valentine of White Oak; children, Michael Wayne Valentine of Gladewater, Christi Coppedge and husband, Andy of Red Oak, and Sherri Donahoo of Joinersville; and five grandchildren; Justin Eakin, Sierra Eakin, Kristen Donahoo, Jordan Coppedge and Jaydan Coppedge.



Graveside services for Winon L. Allen, 84, of Gladewater,were held Saturday, April 9, 2016 at Barber Cemetery in Starrville, Texas. Mr. Allen passed away on Tuesday, April 5, 2016 in Gladewater. Services are under the direction of Croley Funeral Home in Gladewater.

Winon Louis Allen was born in Big Sandy on May 4, 1931. Winon was a truck driver for Gladewater ISD and a member of the Church of Christ. He also served in the U.S. Army.



Graveside services for Ann Fry, 72, of Gladewater were held Sunday, April 10, 2016 at Gladewater Memorial Park with Reverend Prentis McGee officiating. Mrs. Fry passed away on April 8, 2016 in Gladewater. Services are under the direction of Croley Funeral Home in Gladewater.

Ann Fry was born in Yorktown, Texas on September 10, 1943. She spent her time reading, working crossword puzzles and puzzles with her daughter.


Services for Mary Lou Cheatham Carney, 80, of Big Sandy will be Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at the Croley Funeral Home Chapel in Gladewater with Reverend Terrill L. Pearson officiating.  Burial will follow at Gladewater Memorial Park.  Mrs. Carney passed away on Friday, April 8, 2016 in Longview.

The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Croley Funeral Home in Gladewater.

Sherrie Smith Johnson, 59, of Odessa died April 7, 2016 in Eastland County, Texas. She was born April 6, 1957 in Longview.

She is survived by her ex-husband Troy L. Johnson, her mother Barbara Rouse and husband Sterling all of Gladewater, son Michael Johnson and wife Stefani of Odessa, two sisters Teresa Benson and husband Donnie of Ozark, Missouri, Denise McAlister of Gladewater, Texas and one granddaughter Mackinzie Nicole Johnson of Odessa.

Funeral service will be 10am Friday, April 15, 2016 at Frank W. Wilson Funeral Chapel.Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
