The Passing Parade

By Mildred Bowden Jones
& Joyce Hugman

FROM MILDRED: Appreciation to all of you who have manicured your yards and helped to beautify Gladewater.

My family thought I was a little too hard so I will lighten up. BUT the coin was on the other side as I have met people in the restaurants, grocery store, etc., and they say please keep it up—we need it.

I saw a sweet lady out mowing her neighbor’s yard so it would look as good as hers, which is always beautiful to perfection. Thanks, Ernestine Wilson Sawyer for such concern.AND I believe that she is close to 90.

Family Fun Night is set for 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 30th, at First Baptist Church, in the Family Life Center. Ages K-5th grade with their families are invited.

The next luncheon will be at The Cotton Patch Restaurant in Longview on August 14th. The birthday honorees will be Robert Stokes and Boogie Modisette.

It’s nice to be missed when I don’t write. I didn’t feel well last week and I received a beautiful get well card from Helen Pursel Dunnavant. Thanks, Helen, for your caring wishes and hoping that I feel better. She is a special friend who I have known for many years.

Our deepest most heartfelt sympathy to the family of Jenelle Carrington, whose services were held Wednesday, July 23rd, with Dr. Randy Fitzgerald officiating. She was a retired registered nurse...
