UG Lions Improve to 2-2 in District Play

With wins over Harleton and Carlisle last week, the Union Grove Lions varsity basketball team have evened their District 16-2A record to 2-2.  They will travel to Hawkins on Tuesday, January 15 and host Overton on Friday, January 18 on Law Enforcement Appreciation Night at the  Lions’ Den.
Last Tuesday, four Union Grove players scored in double digits as the Lions routed Harleton, 64-37.  The Lions were red hot from the field hitting 68% of their shots.  Cade Judd scored 17 points; Kole Burns added 16 points; Carson Daniels posted 15 points and Matthew Bower contributed 10 points in the victory.
On Friday of last week, the Union Grove Lions traveled to Carlisle, where Kole Burns was on fire, hitting 11 of 17 shots to post 23 points as well as pull down 7 rebounds to lead the team to 55-48 victory.  The Indians made a late fourth quarter run, but was too little, too late.  Kole Burns, Cade Judd and Carson Daniels were a solid supporting cast combining for 26 points.  Daniels led the Lions with 10 of the Lions 33 rebounds of which 27 were on the defensive boards.
