Gilmer Easter Egg hunt set for April 19th

Gilmer’s annual Easter Egg Hunt, sponsored by the Gilmer/Longview law firm of Goudarzi and Young, is scheduled Saturday, April 19, at the Gilmer Civic Center on U.S. 271.
The 11 a.m. event, normally held at the Upshur County Courthouse, was moved because the courthouse lawn is closed off for a multi-million dollar historical renovation of the building.
The egg hunt will have four age groups, said Gloria McLuckie, executive director of the Gilmer Area Chamber of Commerce, which is helping with the event.
They are ages 0-2, 3-4, 5-6 and 7-8.
She said youngsters can come earlier than 11 a.m. for having photos made with the Easter bunny, popcorn, face painting and sno-cones. The hunt itself normally ends within five minutes, McLuckie said.
